Pulau Ketam I

Pulau Ketam, off the coast of Selangor in Malaysia, is a popular painting spot for Singapore artists, including established Singapore artist Low Hai Hong

It is a fishing village with wooden houses built on stilts.

When the tide rises, the ground becomes submerged with water and residents move around in their fishing boats.  When the tide recedes, residents park their boats and walk on the muddy ground.

In this painting,  he paints a scene of a glorious setting sun, with the waters glistening, and the returning fishing boats blazing.

We may be in Singapore, but we are transported to this glorious sunset scene in this painting.
