Flight, an oil painting by renowned Singapore artist Low Hai Hong, is not a painting of flowers.
But we decided to put it together with the Spring Rhapsody exhibition because it was so colourful and elegant that on first glance, it seemed to be some sort of flowers.
We are reluctant to tell you what the painting actually is, because knowing the answer will stop you from enjoying yourself looking at the painting, and deciding what you see.
Sometimes in life, there is no need to know the answer or solution or outcome.
Wondering what it is or what it will be or what will happen, can be more enjoyable and fun.
Anyhow, spoiler ahead.
This is a painting of cock fighting.
Low Hai Hong was enthralled at the cock fights he saw in Bali. For when they fight, the fighting cocks jump up in the air, ferocious and fierce, but also full of grace and beauty.
In this painting, the fighting cocks are dancing in the air, with their colourful feathers spread out, making the fight look like a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
